Who am I?

iWebMore - a free utility to enhance websites build with Apple’s iWeb

(works only with iWeb from iLife’06 on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard, iWeb from iLife’08 has buildin feature called HTML Snippets that does about the same thing as iWebMore does)
iWebMoreIf you have the need to add flash animations, google ads, mail forms, applets and other small pieces of web code to your website and you’re still using iWeb 1 you have two choices: upgrade to iWeb 2 by buying iLife ’08 or using a program like iWebMore. So, what DOES iWebMore actually do?!

iWebMore let you add pieces of HTML code to your page using a simple trick, after publishing your website you have to run iWebMore which processes all publishes HTML files and convert the hidden HTML pieces to real HTML code your browser can understand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the current version?
The current and only version is 1.0.0, I don’t use iWeb anymore and so don’t use iWebMore anymore so haven’t got much reason to keep on developing. Also with the release of iLife’08, iWebMore is quickly becoming obsolete, it’s only useful if you’re using iLife’06.

Where can i get it?
You can download it from the download page.

I can’t get it to work, can you help me?
I can only give limited support as I don’t use it myself anymore (don’t have iWeb nor iWebMore installed on my computers), you can look at the troubleshooting page and can try to mail me, don’t expect a quick or useful answer but I try to answer all mails.

How does it work?
iWeb doesn’t support plugin code so instead of altering how iWeb works iWebMore must be run after publishing your site to your harddisk or .mac and it will make the needed modifications to your website. Your HTML code is added by placing those rounded corner boxes and add the HTML as text in these boxes with special markings at begin and end to let iWebMore know it must treat this text differently. To make it easier to add the same HTML code to different pages iWebMore also supports templates. To get a detailed explanation read the manual.

Why is it free?
The making of iWebMore was kind of a fun project (it started as a quick and dirty java hack, see my blog at jaap.voetjes.org for more info) and my first real Mac OS X application. I guess I already earn enough money with my regular work (see www.ctrl-j.nl) and I use so many Open Source and free software myself, let’s say it’s good to finally give back even if it’s just a little utility useful to just a few people. I just hope it is as good for you as it is for me!

I found a bug.
Just mail me with the problem description at iwebmore@ctrl-j.eu and I’ll see what I can do.

I would like to ... functionality added to iWebMore?
Just mail me at iwebmore@ctrl-j.eu and I’ll see what I can do. But as I said I don’t use it anymore, don’t have it installed anymore, have to search for my iLife’06 disks and basically don’t care about iWeb anymore, so don’t hold your breath.

I would like to have the source so I can make some nice additions myself?
First note that this was a learning project for me and it is a Cocoa - Java application so don’t expect well documented and structured code because it isn’t. Still not put of? You can download the sources from the download page (it’s part of the disk image). The license is GPLv2.

Why is it called iWebMore?
Was the first word added after iWeb that didn’t give any result in Google.

Who’s that baby on the icon?
My eldest son, see www.deliefstebaby.com. As iWeb is mainly targeted for personal websites my icon still reflects this ;-)

Where can i get it?
You can download it from the download page, hey didn’t you ask this question before?

How do I contact you?
See here.

Why is your english so bad.
Because I’m dutch and my english just is (although I hope it is improving, I’m now living in Australia).
